State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, has weighed in on the fight against bullying saying that there are many families around the state and around the country that experience the avoidable consequences of this behaviour every day.
“It is upsetting to see young lives being impacted in such a way. Our children are the future and we need to support them in any way we can.
“The LNP stands ready to back measures to tackle all forms of bullying in our state and across the nation.
“This is an issue that is above politics and we must work together to not only keep our children from this threat, but educate them on the negative effects and consequences bullying can have and hopefully stamp out this behaviour all together,” Mr Krause said.
The National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence is on 16 March. It is a day for schools, students and the community to say “Bullying. No Way!” For more information visit: https://bullyingnoway.org.au/
This can be a difficult topic to talk about. If you’re a young person needing support contact the Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800. For parents and carers, this time is just as difficult and I urge anyone having trouble with this issue to call Parentline on 1300 30 1300.
