Member for Scenic Rim Jon Krause has made representations on behalf of a number of constituents on Tamborine Mountain and in the Fassifern Valley who enquired about a TransLink Demand Responsive Transport Trial in 2018.
Mr Krause said the limited public transport services in these parts of the Scenic Rim present some challenges for some residents considering both localities are at least 30 minutes away from major transport precincts.
“TransLink’s Demand Responsive Transport service is currently being trialled in Logan and is a pre-booked service that adapts to customer demand – it changes its routes and vehicles to suit the number of passengers who want to travel and fairs are reasonably priced,” Mr Krause said.
In the Scenic Rim the services would connect patrons from the Fassifern Valley with public transport options at Ipswich and Tamborine Mountain residents with public transport options at the Gold Coast.
“I will continue to fight to increase the accessibility of public transport in the Scenic Rim Electorate,” Mr Krause said.
